Section 1 (WEB) Live Meetings via WIMBA (Desktop Video-Conferencing) on Tuesday Nights 7:00-9:00 P.M. (MST)

Class meeting dates: June 4 (shakedown), June 11, June 18, June 25, July 2, July 9, July 16 (July 23 - Emergency Backup Day)
NOTE: During the June 4 class, I will be discussing the course format, and making sure students are on the right track. Another purpose of this session is to make sure students are able to participate in the live sessions and can ideally work out any bugs in your equipment before the first "real" class on Tuesday, June 11.

The first "REAL" class that has a written assignment due and discusses questions/topics from the text will be: Tuesday, June 11

  • 6/5: NOTE: All written assignments are described in detail (with due dates) on the Topics Schedule. If you do not know what is due, or when it is due, contact me ASAP! All "regular" written assignments are to be submitted to turnitin.

  • 6/5: If any student wants me to conduct an additional "practice Wimba session" on Friday or Saturday night, let me know. Send me an e-mail.

  • 6/5: A total of 16 students participated successfully in the first live (shakedown) class on June 4. Thank you! I hope to see the remaining 5 or 6 students that did not participate via Wimba next Tuesday evening. Please remember that although you may "participate" in this class without the Wimba meetings. . . you will be required to do extra written work on top of the "regular" written assignments. You will also be required to watch, and comment on the recorded live sessions. I will begin posting "make-up participation" assignments on the evening of June 11. You will have approximately 1 week to complete these. They are to be submitted directly to the instructor via e-mail attachment.

  • 5/31: Go to www.study.net, register, and to pay for and download the (3) cases and (4) articles for this course. This course, MKT 517: Marketing Management (Summer 2013) is one of only a few courses available at study.net from Eastern New Mexico University. Let me know if you have any problems with study.net. The cases and articles cost abut 30.00. This give you the material to download as .pdf files. If you opt for the Textpack, you will have to pay another 17.00, but they will print out the materials and mail them to you. I would go with the .pdf's if I were you.

  • 5/28: NOTE: The textbook publisher was kind enough to provide the first three chapters of the book in .pdf format. For those of you that are still waiting for the textbook, you may download and use these electronic chapters:

  • 5/28: If (for any reason) you are unable to participate in a Live Class session, then you must submit a (very extensive) written assignment regarding the topic of the week to: www.turnitin.com. More details on these paper assignments can be obtained from the instructor. To do a written paper assignment in lieu of live class participation, you must notify the instructor at least 3 hours before the live class is scheduled.

  • 5/28: Please read through the instructions and information on how to use the WIMBA Live Classroom. Try to have everything installed, and working for the shakedown meeting on Tuesday, June 4th (7:00-9:00).

  • 5/28: Get the textbook for this class ASAP. We will use it HEAVILY. I don't care where you buy it. Information on the textbook is available on the MKT 517 syllabus

  • 5/28: You will be required to submit written work to www.turnitin.com. Details about turnitin are provided in the MKT 517 syllabus
    Please go and register for this class at turnitin IMMEDIATELY.
